After Ronald Reagan died in June 2004, I read that he used to answer
a lot of his mail personally and was known to write long letters to
people who wrote to him. I decided to write
letters to the ex-Presidents in the hopes that they would send
me a note back.
I also decided to send former Prime Minister Brian Mulroney a note to
thank him for his touching eulogy of Ronald Reagan.
Below is the letter I sent and his reply.
Rt. Honourable Brian Mulroney

Dear Prime Minister:
I heard
your touching comments last week at the funeral for President Reagan and I wanted to thank you for being such a fine representative of Canada. It made me proud to hear your clear and articulate words and to see, through you, Canada on centre stage again.
The eloquence and clear-headed thinking you brought to Parliament is, I think, sorely missing today. During this difficult and dangerous time in our history, it is my sincere hope that the leaders of today, like you and President Reagan before them, will confront those who threaten our free societies.
Prime Minister, thank you for your leadership and for continuing to represent Canada so well on the world stage.
Yours sincerely,
Darryl Levine
